Parent/Player Information

Registering Children for Vermilion Soccer
The 2017 Outdoor Soccer Player Registration Form and Parent Letter can be printed off (see bottom of this page) or picked up at the Town Office. Please complete form and either drop off at our AGM and Registration Night on March 6, 2017, mail to Vermilion Soccer Association (Box 3729, Vermilion, T9X 2B7) or drop off at the Town Office, by March 24 (late fees will apply).  Please note that Registration Fees are listed in the Parent Letter. Your child is not considered registered if payment and volunteer bond cheques do not accompany registration form.  Also, please note that the Town Office is a DROP-OFF POINT ONLY; please put your completed form, which has already been witnessed, and your cheques in an enclosed envelope marked "Vermilion Soccer" and drop them off; the Town Office does NOT take debit, and is uncomfortable taking cash. Personnel at these locations are not equipped to handle questions, either. Please contact Angela Bryden, the Registrar for Outdoor Soccer at 780.787.0484 or email: nabryden@gmail.com  with your questions. The answers to Frequently Asked Questions may also be found here or on this page. Important dates can be found on the VSA Calendar of Events on the Home Page.

VOLUNTEERS make it all possible!
Parent Volunteer Hour Requirements for each child;     Mini-level (U6-U10): 6 hours  ~  Youth-level (U12-U18): 8 hours
U4 parents are expected to be on the field with their child in lieu of volunteer hours.

There are different volunteer options to fulfill required hours:
  1. Join our Board and have all your required hours taken care of! Please contact a member of the executive if there is a vacant job or position in the list that you would be willing to do!
  2. Volunteering as a Head Coach (of U6-U18) covers all your required hours.
  3. Volunteering as an Assistant Coach takes care of your volunteer hours for one child.
  4. Volunteering as a Team Manager covers volunteer hours for one child at the mini-level (U6-U10) and all required hours for the youth-level (U12-U18).
  5. Volunteering for Recycling, Tournament Leader, Club Photographer, Merchandise, or Coaching U4 covers volunteers hours for one child.
  6. Hourly Volunteer positions available are field prep work bees, preparation for tournaments, work in the tournament concession, etc. There are charts posted in the Shack (located at the Soccer Fields) where you can sign up for a time that suits you best. Remember to note your hours worked in the binder there as well, as bond cheques are cashed if volunteer hours are not completed.  Have a member of the board sign the binder for you to verify your hours.

If you have questions or are unsure how to obtain all your volunteer hours please contact our 2017 Volunteer Coordinator Linda Hemauer (780.853.0578).

Attached below is a working Staff Manual outlining jobs, roles and responsibilities of all volunteer positions.
